James 1:22 (KJV) – “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
Hearing informs you. Doing transforms you. Many believers love the Word. They enjoy sermons. They underline verses. But transformation doesn’t happen in hearing alone — it happens in obedience. Faith that never acts is faith that never lives. God has already supplied the power but you still have to flip the switch. Disciples don’t just admire truth. They apply it. If you’re frustrated because you don’t see change, ask yourself: Have I heard the Word but not acted on it? Obedience confirms discipleship.
Reflection Questions:
• What truth has God already shown you that you haven’t acted on?
• Where are you waiting for God to move when He’s waiting for you?
• What would obedience look like in your current situation?
• Is your faith active — or theoretical?
